At the Western Business Roundtable, we work for a common sense, balanced approach to economic development and environmental conservation. We support public policies that encourage economic growth, opportunity and freedom of enterprise. We advocate on a wide range of issues, including the following:
- Energy policy
- Air quality
- Water quality and quantity
- Regulatory reform
- Public lands use
- Waste management
- Economic development
- Environmental regulation
Specifically, we do the following:
- Work to influence the development of public policies at the state, regional and federal levels.
- Help our members gain access to public policymakers at the highest levels of government.
- Build coalitions across economic sectors to support policies that encourage economic growth and opportunity and reduce burdensome government regulation.
- Help our members build support for their public policy positions among many different companies and organizations.
- Organize high-level meetings, issue conferences, media events and other opportunities for members to communicate their views to senior policy makers and opinion leaders.
- Help educate the news media and other opinion leaders on issues of importance to economic growth in the West.
- Work closely with the Western Governors' Association, regional congressional organizations, state legislatures, the U.S. Congress and other governmental entities to ensure that Western business interests have appropriate input into the public policy process.
